Stained Bed Frame

In July 2020 I built a bed frame from dimensional lumber. Not the most exciting project, but it got the job done and it is still in use.

The frame is straightforward — 2x lumber joined to tapered 4x posts at the corners with carriage bolts. A center support rail keeps the mattress from sagging.

Most of this build happened with a baby in one arm and a tool in the other. You work with the crew you have.

I stained the frame dark with Minwax after sanding everything down. The dark stain on pine gives it more character than the raw lumber deserves.

Carriage bolts at the corners and a dark stain on the grain. Simple, solid, and still holding up.
